Fire Station Tour

The wonderful MOMS club I had to leave when we moved, did great activities together! We loved the variety of things we were able to do in the short time we were in Houston. One of the moms in the club had a firefighter husband, so we got a personal tour!

The boys were a bit reserved at first and weren't quite sure they wanted to be there yet.

Interested from afar!

Not too sure what that crazy fireman is going to do inside that engine!

Love it!

A bit of a guilty look, like he wasn't given permission to climb into the engine. He was, but he sure looks guilty!

Inside the truck with friends!

Can't believe he actually put the hat on, AND smiled! Bonus!

Jonathan wasn't too sure about the plastic hats they were given.

He warmed up to it once everyone was trying them on!

He wouldn't smile for me, but at least he had it on!

The sillies kicked in! Oh, and the fire truck boots were a must for the visit.

Couldn't believe he tried these on either. He's getting a bit more adventurous.

I didn't want to fix the headphones for fear that we would miss a moment like this! He was trying to get Jonathan to talk to him in the microphone.

Running around and on the truck was too much fun!

Jonathan still wasn't sure what to think about the giant wheels.

Steering wheel in your way, Jonathan?

Safety first!

Driving without a license, and the necessary height!

Better have your seat belt on!

The boys ended up having a blast and it's so funny to think back to their reservations in going over there in the first place! Sometimes, even Mommy knows best!

Pumpkins, The Beginning

About a week before we moved to Dallas, we geared up for the upcoming Halloween festivities and went to a local pumpkin patch.

The boys rested up after their naps and enjoyed some time tucked into our bed, watching a favorite show.

Then, they donned their boots and we went searching for the perfect pumpkins to decorate.

Matt really liked the bumpy pumpkin!

Jonathan preferred the little baby pumpkin.

Matt found a little one he liked too!

Jonathan's had a cool little handle for him to tote it around.

Let the painting begin!

The driveway got a bit of painting that day too.

Matt really got into it, and unfortunately combined all the colors into what made a pale gray color. I decided next year I won't put white in there and we'll see what happens!

A first, the boys share a swing and enjoy themselves!

Crashing at the bottom of the swing became a fun game!

After I washed the paint off the driveway, the boys quickly took advantage of the puddles.

Jonathan decided that barefoot would be best!

Bubbles and a Ham!

Jonathan has had a few bubble baths, but typically would eat the bubbles and I would determine it would be his last one for a while. I gave in one night and brought in the camera to capture my ham on film!

He's thinking about eating them!

He's testing me at this point!

Oops, I got caught!

What a ham!

Cheese!

Halloween Fashion Show

While trying to get packed and figure out what we needed with us over the next few months, I was trying to decide on Halloween costumes. I found Matt's from 2 years ago and just for grins, tried it on Jonathan!

Our second little golfer!

Matt didn't like the hat and even cried terribly, but Jonathan just laughed and ripped it off!

Then he attacked me!

On to the pirate try on! ARRRRR!

Houston Zoo, A Last Visit

One day before we moved, I decided to throw out all logic and try to take the boys to the zoo by myself! I thought I was a bit crazy, all the way there, but it turned out to be a great morning!

Here they are in the aquarium.

A very cool tunnel allowed them to fell like they were in the aquarium.

They cracked me up in this "tree", and they wouldn't stop moving, so all the pictures turned out blurred, but I couldn't resist!

Checkin' out the animals!

Matt liked the animal statues best because he wanted to put coins in all of them. They are all donations for different exhibits at the zoo. Matt contributed to several this visit.

At least one of them was interested in the animals!

Hey!

Last time we were here, he was barely able to remain standing on this bridge when other kids were on it. This visit, he was full on running across it!

Watch out!

That devilish grin is a sight to see!

Dancing in the Night

The boys often amuse me and I can rarely catch them on video doing the things I love! One day, after a few times of just being an observer, I couldn't help but grab the camera.

The boys were on a kick of a show called Dinosaur Train on PBS. Since we use DVR, they would watch the same episodes with the same promos. They came to know some of the promos quite well, and this is what happened, twice!

I love the night time routine with Jonathan, and especially when he does new things and expands on them. One night, he did an extended goodnight to his Backyardigans. One of my favorite books to read to the boys is Pajama Time. We all get very animated and loud. It's an enjoyable time, and this night I caught Jonathan on camera reading it with me!

Last Days in Houston

The boys were able to get outside to play a bit more before we moved. It was still hot and there were of course still mosquitoes, but we played as much as we could!

Peek-a-boo!

Time for a bit of swinging!
