Legoland

Good friends of ours from Sacramento were going to be in town in April and wanted us to meet them at Legoland. We hadn't taken the boys since last time we lived here, so we were on board with that plan!

The boys were anxious to get into the park!

We waited out front for the Albers to arrive!

Jonathan wanted to go to the driving course, so we took some pics of Nick and Matt while they rode on the helicopters and we stood in line. I love my camera and especially my zoom lens that made this picture possible.

The line was long enough that Matt was able to get in line and join Jonathan out there on the driving course.

Jonathan was so intense, and was amazingly skilled in his driving.

Checking for curbs!

He was not happy that the driving course was over, and pouted for a while.

Miniland was not interactive, but still stole their attention.

Panning for gold!

Ooohhhh!

Matt wanted Jonathan to try on one of the helmets, but as you can see, Jonathan fled the scene.

Give these two legos/duplos and they'll be happy for hours.

Lock 'em up!

Switch!

Racing down the hill!

Egg Hunt

I sure wasn't thinking this year when I signed us up for the neighborhood Easter egg hunt. It was during nap time, a large production with lots of people, and it was hot. The triple whammy hit and Jonathan was not happy.

I got a few smiles when we stopped by one of the booths and he was able to throw some baseballs.

Jonathan was not interested in getting involved in his age group's egg hunt, until after the crowd dispersed and the eggs were all picked up, so we took our tears and pouty face to the playground to wait for Matt's age group.
Matt befriended a boy a the playground and was able to negotiate some play time with his trucks. Again with the funny expressions when he caught me taking his picture.

Matt was requested to grab a few eggs for his brother, as Jonathan declared he was out of this one as well.

There wasn't as much excitement over the egg hunt as I had hoped, but the three of us made it through and will think deeply about it before signing up next year. I am a little scarred.

Tee Ball Again!

Matt continued to be excited throughout the tee ball season. Just a few more shots...

He spotted me taking pictures...

A Humpback Whale?

Back in April, we bought a voucher for whale watching. Why not? We live nearby and none of us had ever been before. Well, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it out of the marina very far. I had a bit of white knuckling going on for a while. Good thing it was a short 2 hour trip, right?

They sure are my pride and joy! (even with scowls) Jonathan wasn't quite sure he was going to enjoy the trip.

Still trying to convince us he wasn't going to enjoy this boating adventure.

Our first marine life observations.

We were out there for about 1 1/2 hours and hadn't seen much and then the captain came on the speaker with some news that we'd be taking a turn and heading out toward what was reported to be a humpback whale. He told us to make phone calls and cancel any immediate plans because we'd be late getting back. I was a bit leery because I couldn't handle the water still, but when I saw the whale, somehow the movement seemed to lessen.

It even came by and waved at us. It was amazing to see it try to entertain us.

The day wasn't the clearest of days, but the sun came out a bit as we ventured further off shore.

Trying out my camera was fun, for Nick. I couldn't hang with the moving boat, worrying about the boys on the boat, and trying to take pictures. He was in charge of the "good camera" that day and I think he did a great job!

More of the amazing whale. It was incredible to see such wildlife in its natural environment, so close to us.

Smiles all around after the whale sighting.

Even Jonathan showed his smiles!

Even facing the camera with the smile!

The boys had a blast in the end.

My little curly headed, smiley boy!

He makes me smile even when he tries to hide his smile.

They don't look alike, do they?
