Last Game!

After a long, exciting tee ball season, the last game was finally here! The boys were very excited, not just about the new field location (with a playground on which to do warm ups), but the party planned for after the game.

Matt sat patiently on the "bench" awaiting his turn at bat.

Check out that first baseman!

I had a bit of trouble watching the game all the way through this time. Did I mention there was a playground right next to the field?

The Davises graciously hosted the end of season party at their house. The kids had a blast, received certificates and lots of pizza and other goodies!

I decided to try my hand at a cake for the occasion.

Matt had a blast this year. I hope his love for baseball continues, and that Jonathan is still interested in 2 years when he can sign up! Poor guy!

Soccer, Week 2

Not much to post from our second week with the soccer group, but I couldn't resist a couple of Jonathan in action.

Here he is dribbling with one of the other boys. I think they were trying to learn control over the ball, but instead, they ran into each other.

A high five from the coach, with his big brother looking on!

This was great for Jonathan since he was finally able to be involved and playing instead of just sitting on the sidelines. He opted out of a few games a couple of times, but in general, he participated, listened, and enjoyed playing!

Rockin' Out!

The boys just love music. It doesn't matter if it's on one of their shows, in the car, on the wii, or just making a song up... they love music. Here are a few videos of the boys in action!

Jonathan and his "Paper Guitar", rockin' out to Van Halen! Pardon the messy room in the background.

Our neighbors have a set of drums in their garage, and the boys often go over there and take advantage when the garage is open. I finally caught a little of them playing one day when the garage was getting cleaned out and the drums were out for all to see. I don't know if poor Avery knew what to think of the Trevino boys and their crazy "music"!

Pirate Park

This park is so much fun! The boys love it, and seem to get other kids involved each time we go.

It was a race, with Jonathan driving. Wonder who won.

Watch this, Mommy!

Running over to tell me something exciting that happened!

The boys had a blast just playing on the swings together.

...until Jonathan landed upside down. Mommy, a little help?

The boys even wrangled in some playmates.

Jonathan tried it all by himself, and did great. Had to try to be like the big kids!

The Beach!

Memorial Day weekend (yes, it's almost Labor Day) we headed out to the beach. We found a spot and time of day that wasn't too crowded. The boys had a blast, mostly playing in the sand.

They headed down to explore the water. Matt was afraid of getting swept away, so he wore his vest, but wanted to try out his kick board and goggles.

Jonathan just wanted some water for some fun with the sand.

It's okay, just let the water touch your toes.

Beach football!

Snack time, for my little pirate! His fresh tatoo was from a pirate birthday party we attended the day before.

What?

More catch with Daddy!

We had fun that day, but that was just the start of the boys exploring the ocean.

Soccer or Swimming?

We signed the boys up for a 5 week introduction to soccer program. On the last day of swim lessons, it was the first day of soccer. We did some rearranging and were able to fit them both in that day. You'd think it all took 4 hours based on the amount of pictures I took, but it was a first and a last day of something new. So, here we go!

Stretching at soccer.

Jumping jacks sure look different at different ages!

They were squatting down and then jumping up for this warm up. I think Jonathan was a bit enthusiastic during this one.

Running in an open field is always fun!

More running!

Trapping the ball (and maintaining balance)

They listen well... to others

Sitting on the ball, waiting their turns.

Learning to dribble!

The outfit of choice today was pure beauty! My favorite part was the dark socks.

Time for swimming!

Jonathan finally got the hang of things and really enjoyed his lessons!

Torpedo arms!

Matt enjoyed his extra time in the pool by gathering things in various ways.

Jumping in!

The gatherer!

Some floating time.

Time to swim across the pool!

Pizza Port with Daddy!

I had to cut out of a fun dinner night with friends right after tee ball one night. The boys seem to have done fine without me! They convinced Nick to take some pictures of them outside the restaurant. I don't know if they liked it because it matched their Phillies gear or if it was just because it was kind of a peek-a-boo thing. Not sure what inspired it, but here are the pics I was sent while I was getting my hair done that evening.

Nothing but trouble with those two! They love the camera these days. Wonder if it's because their mommy takes too many pictures and tries to keep up with the blog? Hmmm.....

Cézanne and Homer in the making?

I was a bit addicted to a shopping site for a while, and got some great deals on products I never would have otherwise tried. One of them is GLOB, and it's been great fun. Non-toxic, plant based paint powder you can make into your own colors and consistencies and not have to worry about what's getting into their little bodies while they fingerpaint. One day recently, we got them out again and the boys went to town at their easel.

Matt decided to paint from a picture on his new set of Angels' baseball cards. Of course, he had just been riding his bike outside and must have thought the helmet was still necessary for painting.

Jonathan went for more of an abstract. For a while, it looked like a tree of some sort.

Proud of his work of art?

There was grass, and dirt, and then had to create the player.

His inspiration is clipped above him.

Not a tree any more...

The beginning of the red helmet...

Both pictures are framed in our hall right now, and I will have to post pictures when I think about it. They enjoyed it! I have a hard time pushing art and fine motor activities on them (it's like they think they are in therapy or something, geesh), but I get so excited when they choose something on their own and enjoy it so much! Some day maybe they will let me break out their handwriting workbooks again! I promise it will make school that much more fun, really, I do!
