Happy Easter!

We had an egg hunt in our yard on Easter Sunday, but on Saturday the city had a big egg hunt in the park. We got there just in time, and barely got any eggs! There was a huge rush and a lot of children of all ages there. Here are the boys checking out their loot!

It was a bit windy that morning so the boys are a bit squinty-eyed in these pictures!

We walked over to the playground after the hunt. The boys had a blast.

Peek-a-boo

"This?" That's his favorite "word" these days.

A little puddle play after our own egg hunt!

Even with the iffy weather, we had a great weekend with the boys. Wind, puddles, and a few ants in the jellybean filled eggs, but we had lots of fun!

A Putt Putt Adventure!

One morning we took the boys to Putt Putt for a bit of miniature golf. Matt loves golf and loves playing on his portable putting green, so we knew this would be a hit! Jonathan got into it as well, begging to hold my golf ball between holes. He eventually got to where he would hand it to me when I asked, without putting up a fight!

Matt was surveying the hole for Nick at this point. He should have been giving out advice on this one. He did get a hole in one after all!

He looks as if he's analyzing the putt in this one, but I think he was just laying in the way of Nick for his turn. It was a learning experience for sure! I think by about the 7th hole he was no longer picking up our golf balls during our turns.

At one point, he even planned ahead for his putt. I was amazed at how he picked up the game!

By the looks of it you would think he wasn't putting, but at this point, he was just going nuts! His accuracy wore off and he was just having fun seeing how many times he could get the ball to bounce around.

Doling out advice on this one, from the gazebo!

It was a bit warm and sticky this day, can you tell by the curls and overheated look of Jonathan?

Once he found the gazebo, he kept returning after each turn. He'd sit in there and wait for his next turn.

We forgot to warn him that his ball would disappear on hole 18. He was a bit surprised when he couldn't reach down and grab it.

My 2 golfers, posing together, looking at the camera, AND smiling! Can't beat that!

I tried to get in on the action, but all Jonathan wanted to do was touch my teeth of all things! He wouldn't look at the camera, but was just trying to figure out what I was doing so close to him and not playing with him.

More touching the teeth!

You can barely see them, but Matt & Nick went into the cave and posed for a picture behind the water. Matt is showing his pearly whites again!

After Putt Putt, we went for burgers at Fuddruckers. It was a bit difficult with everyone being so hot, tired and hungry, but we made it through. As soon as our food was ready, Matt decided he needed to go to the potty. So, Jonathan & I started eating and he showed off his love of mustard! He was spooning it into his mouth from the cup. He gave up on dipping anything. I guess that's just not efficient enough.

We had a great time that morning and took some wonderful naps when we got home!

The New House!

We finally had our first morning in the new house and the boys went nuts! Luckily we planned ahead and Nick had the baby gates installed, but little else was set up as far as toys. We quickly brought their kitchen and train tables downstairs so we could get to work unpacking a bit.

Matt was making something in the kitchen.

Watching a little Handy Manny while playing in the living room!

Matt started to do a little dance for us.

The first thing Matt wanted to do on our first day at home without daddy was to have a picnic on top of the playground!

Matt spilled a bit of juice during the picnic, but was eager to get up and play with his airplane after he finished eating.

We were pushing nap time this day, can you tell by the sleepy eyes?

Running around and flying the airplane.

Jonathan rarely gets a juice box, so he was a bit reluctant to let go of it.

Still flying that airplane around the yard.

He actually looked at me when I asked him to for a picture!

More running around, flying the airplane.

He experimented for a while with the swings and what happens when you throw it up full force and don't run away far enough.

I told him it was time to go in for nap time and he grabbed the picnic blanket and told me he was going to nap outside.

We had some fantastic weather when we first got here and it was a great slow entry back into the Houston climate. The boys had a blast playing outside and exploring their new yard!

Back in Big D

We drove back to Dallas from Oklahoma for a few more days before heading to the new house. We tried to do a lot of playing outside, but were still encountering the wind!

Jonathan was a bit winded with a walk in the stroller. We went out in the neighborhood while Matt and Grandpa played with sticks down by the pond. Matt just couldn't get enough!

Grandpa and Jonathan took a short walk.

He looks as if he's saying, "Come on, Grandpa!"

More story time with Grandpa!

Grandpa's birthday happened to fall during our visit so we had a big family dinner at his house. Granny cooked, and Uncle Steve and his family came for dinner.

Gracie and Uncle Steve entertain Jonathan, who started before the rest of us.

The chaos that happens when the cousins get together!

Jonathan was loving the slinky Chase was demonstrating for him.

Matt decided to take a self-portrait!

Jonathan was so proud of himself for getting the remote away from us. Thankfully, the tv was off and no damage was done!

Matt and the sticks, continued...

We took a little fieldtrip with Granny & Grandpa to a nature museum. It wasn't the best weather outside, but the morning turned out to be an adventure for us all. The boys were entertained while we were there and tired when we returned, so our goals were accomplished.

Jonathan's curls really came out with the misty weather!

I kept trying to tell Matt he was trying to talk to him. Matt wanted nothing to do with it!

We had a great visit with our family and friends while we were in Dallas/Oklahoma, but we were ready to see our new house! Granny & Grandpa graciously offered to drive us down to Houston to our new house. So, off we went to our newest family adventure.
