Easter, Egg Hunts, and Petting Zoos

We had a few too many egg hunts this year, but the boys had a blast! We started out in my dad's neighborhood, then there was one at their church, and then Matt had another one at his preschool at the time.

The most challenging egg hunt was in the neighborhood. The eggs were everywhere, and since there had been recent cold weather, there was not much green grass to hide any eggs.

Granny watches as Jonathan gathers his eggs.

They found their limit and headed to the playground.

Playground time. First eggs, then dizziness!

Jonathan & Grandpa head back to the pool house after some more playtime.

Their allowance of one lollipop was savored! We were off to a photo shoot after this, so the lollipop was a risky offer. They made it without incident though!

The next event was Granny & Grandpa's church egg hunt.

He was trying to show me the cool egg he found, while smiling big. This was the result!

Matt had to wait for his age group, so Jonathan went off with his haul and Granny & Grandpa to decorate some cookies.

Jonathan had found a "golden egg" at the egg hunt in the neighborhood, and he had gotten a prize. Matt was convinced that he was going to find one at this egg hunt. He slowed himself down in his hunt by asking me if any egg resembling "gold" was the big prize.

Stopping for a photo op

We found Jonathan in the room with cookie decorating. Matt joined right in.

Smiling with his decorated cookie!

It's a bit blurry, but you can see how much he enjoyed his cookie!

Yummy!

Missed some icing.

Next stop at the church hunt was the petting zoo out front.

Matt fed the baby goat. I couldn't believe he reached in and gave it a try!

Jonathan got a closer look.

Of course the pony wants the hay you are giving him instead of what's in front of him.

He went back for a second try, this time on his own, without me! He's growing up and trying new things!

Reflective of his day?
