Walking & Talking

Jonathan's new favorite thing to do is talk on the phone! He freaks out with the real one when there's a voice on the other end, but his play phones keep him amused. He has also recently started walking! I know, it's about time, but he's been too focused on getting to his destination and can't slow down long enough to take coordinated steps. He's not officially walking everywhere, but he's well on his way now and excited when he does. Check out the videos at the bottom of this post.

You talkin' to me?

The nostril flare cracks me up!

Hewo?

Too bad the phone's upside down. He looks very involved in the conversation!

He learned how to say hello when he puts the phone up to his ear. It cracks me up! Now we have graduated to grabbing EVERYTHING and making it a phone. He even grabbed his pants the other day while I was trying to change his diaper.

First steps are hard to catch since Jonathan has been trying about 3 at a time for a while now. I took the camera in for storytime the other night before bed and tried to capture a bit of his walking skills. There wasn't far for him to go, but he was still at the point where excitement outweighs coordination! Here are his trials at making it across his room. He is getting better every day, and is up to about 3-4 feet fairly reliably, and more at times when he slows down!
