Happy National S'mores Day!

One of the fun facts you get to learn on Facebook is about every "National Holiday". Apparently August 10th is National S'mores Day, so we decided to teach the kids about s'mores, without the campfire.

Jonathan liked his marshmallows more like me, lightly warmed.

Matt was eager for his turn!

Nick likes his a bit on fire!

See my s'more!

Yummy!

Matt was enthusiastic, but tried for a serious face for the camera.

Oh yeah!

Angels!

We took the boys to a game in August and miraculously, they lasted for the entire game! We were in shock, and so excited!

Not a bad way to spend a few hours!

An attempt or two at getting the 3 of us to look at the camera at the same time, and this is all we could get!

I work so hard to keep the boys away from everything Sponge Bob, and what do we do? We end up at the Angels game on Nickelodeon family day with Sponge Bob/Angels t-shirts! The boys were excited to say the least, like the forbidden fruit or something.

Tee Ball in the Park

Over the summer a couple of the dads from tee ball got together at the park so the boys could hang onto their good times on the ball field! This time Jonathan got to join in, so it made both boys happy!

Matt practicing his power hitting.

Taking a pitch from Daddy.

Working on fielding

Jonathan's turn!

A little coaching from Daddy!

Woohoo, a hit!

A recent trip to El Torito (Jonathan's hat), a sunny day (Matt's sunglasses), and some fielding practice all add up to some good times and good picture opportunities! They were entertaining, for sure!

Trip to Campus

We had to get ready for football season while it was still summer, so we took the boys up to SC for some playtime and shopping.

They modeled the hats they talked us into buying for them! We couldn't pass them up.

"Fight On"

The boys had a blast playing dress up with all the crazy hats!

See what I mean... good times!

The obligatory picture in front of Tommy Trojan. 2 willing participants out of 3, not bad.

The protesting 3 year old adds to the picture, right?

A little football in the quad to end the visit!

Run, Jonathan, run!

Can he make it all the way over there?

Yes he can!

4th of July

Our block is small, but we can get together and throw a mean party! We found that out when the 4th of July was approaching. One neighbor suggested we rent a bounce house, then another suggested a keg, and yet another suggested fireworks. It turned into a whole neighborhood potluck, party in the street.

The huge bounce house that was suddenly outside our house.

The boys tried out the bounce house before the party started.

I think they enjoyed their trial!

The neighbors bought a little water themed entertainment for the afternoon.

A little less coordinated than his big brother.

But just as bright of a smile!

Jonathan was loving the splashing!

Matt's frequently used attempt at a pouty face when he sees me armed with my camera.

The real expression!

Sweet treats were abundant!

At one point we couldn't figure out where Matt had gone. Apparently he had invited himself in to one of the neighbors houses and was putting on a concert for the entire extended family!

Let the craziness begin!

Sparklers!

The kids weren't sure what to do.

The gathering started to watch the dads have their little kid fun with fireworks!

The kids had a blast sitting back and watching the fireworks in the street, but nothing was better than hearing them laugh collectively at the noises and craziness that surrounded them that night!

It was a good day, turned into a good night. We were even able to walk to the park in our neighborhood and enjoy some of the fireworks at the pier. We lucked out with our house, for sure!

Golf Lessons

This summer we signed the boys up for golf lessons. They have really enjoyed it and now even have their own clubs. Here are some pics from a few weeks of lessons.

They started out with lessons and it was just the two of them the first week. I love the look Matt has, including his stance. He cracks me up!

Working on the full swing!

Jonathan has changed a lot since this first week of lessons. He seems so little here.

The next week they met Tyler and Josh, who would be with them most weeks.

Giving Coach Tyler high 5s is a highlight after each turn.

The Big Dog, as the call it!

Another week, another set of collared shirts. I love that they quickly picked up on our lesson on golf attire.

Trying to master putting.

Goofing off together, while Jonathan takes a turn.

Working on a good finish.

For the big money...

Working on that "tippy toe finish".
