Sea World

We couldn't pass up an opportunity to take the boys to Sea World. We surprised them, and as usual they were not on board until we actually got there since they really didn't understand what we were doing.

We stopped off to see Shamu and friends swimming around first.

Heeeeeyyyyyy, Mommy!

We went above ground for a different view of them.

The boys enjoyed the tide pool and being able to touch the marine life inside.

That was one big, ugly fish swimming by us.

I couldn't quite capture the fun in this, but the boys were getting on opposite sides of the huge magnifying glass and looking at each other and laughing!

Time to play! Bouncing was worth the wait for both of them!

We stopped off for the seal show. It was entertaining for them, but the adults at the show experienced many more laughs.

Happy Feet

We usually give up and head out of places by nap time, to avoid any complete breakdowns. But, it was a short time before the line would be forming for the Shamu show, and we figured we couldn't pass it up. It was amazing to see these creatures so close and realize their massive size.

There was a little break dancing involved once Shamu got up there.

We were all exhausted after our day there, but had a blast!

Uncle Donny visits!

Nick's best friend Donny visited us over Nick's birthday weekend (which was also Easter weekend).
We figured we'd do a low key egg hunt out back for the boys while Donny was in town.

We had to split the backyard up between the boys to minimize the competition. It made for a more peaceful egg hunt.

Jonathan did well with a little guidance to make sure he found all of the eggs.

Comparing their haul.

Looking through the eggs and figuring out what they got was fun!

Ooooohhhh!

We went down to the park for some play time. Jonathan was a bit discouraged with the ill fitting helmet.

He found the courage to come after us with the bat.

Matt finally talked him into playing with him and tried to pitch to him.

What?

After the park, the boys wanted some real baseball time in the street. Matt ran the bases after his home run.

Back up to bat.

Jonathan gave up on playing ball and decided to get out every riding toy in the garage.

Donny observed as the boys rode and ran all around.

Daddy's Birthday!

The boys and I made Nick a golf themed cake for his birthday. Can you tell they helped clean up the icing?

The boys kept begging me to make more bunkers (so they could eat the cut out of the cake).

Legoland

Good friends of ours from Sacramento were going to be in town in April and wanted us to meet them at Legoland. We hadn't taken the boys since last time we lived here, so we were on board with that plan!

The boys were anxious to get into the park!

We waited out front for the Albers to arrive!

Jonathan wanted to go to the driving course, so we took some pics of Nick and Matt while they rode on the helicopters and we stood in line. I love my camera and especially my zoom lens that made this picture possible.

The line was long enough that Matt was able to get in line and join Jonathan out there on the driving course.

Jonathan was so intense, and was amazingly skilled in his driving.

Checking for curbs!

He was not happy that the driving course was over, and pouted for a while.

Miniland was not interactive, but still stole their attention.

Panning for gold!

Ooohhhh!

Matt wanted Jonathan to try on one of the helmets, but as you can see, Jonathan fled the scene.

Give these two legos/duplos and they'll be happy for hours.

Lock 'em up!

Switch!

Racing down the hill!
