Tee Ball

Matt was excited to play tee ball this year, but he had a fan club leading the way!

"This way, Matt"

Practice warm ups. You can see the variety of players we had this year.

Nick joined in to help coach at the games this year. I don't know who had more fun, seriously.

Don't know what was said here, but I'm sure Matt was talking smack!

Trying to show the "ready position" at 1st base.

Donny came for a visit and had a make shift #3 shirt to join Jonathan in the fan club!

Everyone needs a little brother saying, "good job!".

Donny and Jonathan look on and cheer for Matt at bat!

Matt was making faces out on the field.

Then the sunlight made it look like he was blowing smoke in the air.

Game over!

October Wedding

We traveled back to Galveston in early October to celebrate the wedding of an old friend to a wonderful new friend. Chris and Chivon tied the knot and we had a wonderful celebration, though very little pictures for some reason! The boys stayed at home with my dad and stepmom and had a good time.

A rare picture of Eric Engelhardt, and a few members of the gang.

The groomsmen; Tony, Nick & Eric

The excited, but nervous groom, Chris

We had a good time hanging out with all of our friends from Galveston, and celebrating yet another wedding of someone in our group of friends. The happy couple lives in Vegas, but if we ever make it back out west, we'll be seeing more of them!

Swim Party!

In late September, it was Joshua's birthday and it was time for a swimming party! Joshua takes swimming lessons at this great place, and after this party, the boys are signed up for lessons starting in January.

Matt shot out of the slide!

Then he started getting fancy with his landings!

Jonathan's one and only try on the little slide. He wasn't too cool with going under water, but it all sounded like fun to him.

Trying to make it to the slide with a smile still in tact. Not trying to show his smile though!

Change of clothes for the CAKE!

They had such a great time that Matt decided he wanted his 5th birthday party to be here too!

SMU/TCU Game

Through our tee ball league, there was a special family night package for the SMU/TCU game, so we figured we'd take the boys for a little adventure. It was a short night, but amazing to see the boys at a college football game. We can't wait to get them to an SC game!

Shortly after the amazing wide eyed look on their faces when they entered the stadium, we filled them with popcorn as the festivities began.

Mmm...popcorn

They almost ate the bag!

A little lesson on "The Star Spangled Banner".

We were touched and moved by so much of what the boys did in the short time we were at the game. It was wonderful to see them experience so many firsts.

The shuttle ride back to the car was apparently spooky, according to this picture.

Tee Ball, baby!

More tee ball pictures!

Matt took a while to learn how to run the bases.

Jonathan tried on Matt's batting helmet, wanting to pay the whole time.

Rooting for Matt on his hat, but the Trojans for the football game, later that day, on his shirt.

Congratulating his big brother on a great play!

Time for a snack to keep Jonathan busy while Matt played his game.

A little coaching on hitting for his first at bat.

Matt was a little HOT! Here's Matt after his game.

Another practice, another attempt to go out on the field with Matt.

The Ranch

La Hacienda Ranch has some great food. The boys love going there so they can play on the porch!

Here's Matt riding the horse.

This was the first time Matt actually let us put a quarter in for him to ride it. Apparently it was a funny ride!

Jonathan is always anxious to put a quarter in for Matt to ride, but has never let us put one in when he's on. He's so my child when it comes to those things right now!

Let the Tee Ball Begin!

Matt's first season of tee ball proved very interesting, and fun! He had a blast with it. Jonathan was on the sidelines, wanting in at every chance.

Here's Matt practicing fielding at his first practice.

Batting practice!

Waiting for the first game ...

The kids rotated to every position, but here's Matt on the pitcher's mound.

A little goofy walk at the end of the "good game" high fives with the other team.

Another game, another lesson at the tee.

Such a great beginning to the season!

Oklahoma, here we come, again!

We drove up to Oklahoma for another visit for Labor Day weekend.

Matt decides he wants to climb a tree while playing outside. He was trying to size this one up to see if it would work.

Not a real climbing tree, but worth a try.

The boys decided that Nana & Pawpaw's new dog was cool, but they took a break from their game of chase to hang out together on the deck.

The boys played a bit of air hockey with their cousin Dom.

Sometimes I think Matt forgets how big he is compared to the trucks.

Nick and our niece Abby take some time out for this cheesy shot!

Another visit to the park around the corner from my in-laws' house.

The boys played chase with each other the whole time.

Then they got Nick involved.

Just in case Matt wanted to practice, we brought his equipment!

Running, chasing, throwing, and laughing is normal fare for the boys when they play outside!

The boys sat and chatted for a bit after they got back to Nana & Pawpaw's with new haircuts and balloons.

Just for Pawpaw

Pawpaw loves his grandchildren, and he also loves OU. So, he has merged his loves, and taught the boys a few songs and hand gestures as well as supplied them with a few shirts. One afternoon, while dining at Subway down the street from Pawpaw & Nana's house, Jonathan came up with this version of "Baa Baa Black Sheep" just for Pawpaw!
